Douglass Theatre
The Douglass Theatre hosted early jazz and blues greats such as Otis Redding, Bessie Smith, James Brown, Ma Rainey and Little Richard while running the feature length films and serials popular throughout the country at the time. Now newly renovated, the Douglass Theatre serves all races and cultures, providing multicultural events and films and holding educational performances for area school children.

The Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big HouseThe Allman Brothers Band was formed in March 1969 by legendary guitarist Duane Allman. An offer to sign with Capricorn Records brought the band to Macon, GA. Duane and his fellow band mates – brother Gregg, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, Jaimoe and Berry Oakley – combined a wicked brew of blues, rock, jazz and country into a new musical genre. |

Hay HouseHay House is a National Historic Landmark and a property of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Built between 1855 and 1859, the 18,000 square-foot mansion welcomes 20,000 visitors each year. Hay House is open free of charge twice a year for Hay Days, educational family-oriented events with live music, carriage rides, and hands-on activities. In addition to regular tours and special events, Hay House is also available for weddings, receptions, banquets and other occasions. |

Cannonball HouseThe Cannonball House, named for damage sustained during the War Between the States, was built in 1853 as a planter's townhouse. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it is an example of authentic Greek Revival architecture. |

Georgia Sports Hall of FameThe Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Macon, Georgia, is the country’s largest state sports museum. The 43,000 square feet state-of-the-art museum houses over 3,000 artifacts. From the old style ticket booths to the brick columns in the rotunda and special lighting, the museum invites visitors to experience the history of sports in Georgia with more than 14,000 square feet of high-energy exhibit space and a Hall of Fame corridor that honors the over 300 inductees. |

The Grand Opera HouseThe Grand Opera House, a performing arts center of Mercer University, is Central Georgia’s premier historic theatre and only presenter of professional touring Broadway shows. Our season also includes concerts, comedy, dance, and variety shows as well as a full season of GrandKids arts education performances. Our stage is home to performances of the Macon Civic Club’s annual music revue, Macon Symphony Orchestra, Nutcracker of Middle Georgia and several other civic and arts organizations. |
