"Laboratory of Light" is an exhibition of multimedia works that explore expanded forms of photography and light projections by artist Craig Coleman. The photo-based images in the show have been created using experimental techniques that involve lensless photography and the use of non-commercial lenses. Other works employ modified slide projectors and digitally manipulated images. Coleman has this to say regarding the processes he uses, " they allow me to orchestrate and capture light refractions and shadows that occur on a small scale, which cannot be seen any other way. This way of extending human vision creates abstractions of the world, plays with our assumptions of photographic truth, and transforms the familiar."
